GSM Valtech is part of the GSM Group of companies. Founded in 1974 in
Thirsk, North Yorkshire, manufacturing nameplates and labels. Rapid expansion
followed through organic growth and acquisition. In 1979, Valtech Industries
was purchased and moved to the Thirsk site bringing machining and fabricating
capability. Valtech's principle products at that time were for laboratories,
including machined pressure receptacles and magnetic stirring units. Sheetmetal
capability was later added with the introduction of CNC punching and folding
equipment.
With demand increasing year on year, additional premises were sought.
In 1997, GSM purchased the metalwork fabrication plant of Farnell Electronics
in Wetherby, West Yorkshire. Increasing manufacturing floor area to 28,000
sq ft and gaining staff with over 40 years experience in manufacturing
electronic enclosures. Substantial investment followed allowing GSM Valtech
to continue to offer a first class manufacturing facility, including bar
code data capture to give you up to date production information and accurate
costing.
